Baco No. 1 Brandy is a testament to our quest for a Washington wine grape that balances natural acidity with the potential to produce a world-class brandy. This journey began in early 2017 and led us to the unique Baco Noir grape, introduced to us by Chris, a dedicated vineyard owner and farmer from Millennium Vineyard.

Crafted with History and Innovation:

• The Baco Noir Legacy: Baco Noir, a resilient grape developed in the late 1800s by French researcher Francois Baco, is a hybrid of the high-acid Folle Blanche and the American Grand Glabre. This historical variety has been expertly cultivated by Chris in his cool climate vineyard, just 50 miles from our distillery.
• Distinctive Flavor Profile: Our Baco No. 1 Brandy is crafted from 100% Baco Noir, resulting in a brandy with rich, spicy undertones of nutmeg and cinnamon. The distillate is aged for a minimum of three years in a blend of ex-wine, sherry, and barley wine barrels, ensuring a complex and refined flavor.
